SFG president wins industry award

November 5, 2014

The Media & Content Marketing Association (MCMA) presented SFG president/COO Tony Pytlak with the prestigious Lee C. Williams Award during its annual luncheon and awards ceremony held in New York City on Oct. 8.

This annual award is presented to the individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the periodical publishing field. Recipients are nominated and voted on by the entire MCMA active membership. The Lee C. Williams award has been awarded annually since 1963.

“I am honored to have won this award. I feel that it is a reflection of how strong the teamwork at SFG has become over the last several years, allowing the team to make a significant impact in the industry.  The SFG team has grown together to transform the typical vendor-client relationship to be more of a partner-partner relationship.  Teamwork can produce many great and innovative accomplishments,” said Pytlak.

“Every organization can benefit from an innovative business partner that stays on the forefront of technology in order to help businesses grow. With our partnership approach, SFG is saying, ‘We’re in this together.’”

Pytlak adds, “While the systems and processes are important, even more important are the people that make up the SFG team in that partner-partner business relationship. It comes down to finding the partner you want to work with. That’s what makes it all worthwhile.”

“It is Tony’s leadership that has brought him and SFG to the forefront of publishing services,” said Rochelle Boorstein, MCMA president. “The SFG team has volunteered many hours with the MCMA. I attribute that to the fact that Tony knows we are all in this world we call publishing together. I’ve gotten to know Tony over the past few years and find that he readily shares his knowledge with others. Tony is a well-deserved recipient of the 2014 Lee C. Williams Award.”

Pytlak serves as President/COO of SFG located in Big Sandy, Texas. He joined SFG in 2006 with the goal of helping to grow SFG in providing marketing, technology and business intelligence solutions. Opting for a focus on growth-oriented partnership over the traditional vendor/client relationship, SFG has more than doubled the number of brands using its business solutions.

In addition to marketing and analysis leadership roles at Grainger and GE, Pytlak held various positions at Reiman Media Group and The Reader’s Digest Association, including Director of E-commerce and VP of Business Development and Database Marketing. Throughout his career, Pytlak has supported integrated marketing efforts across magazines, catalog, continuity and other direct marketing business models. He is also a frequent speaker at industry events on topics that include integrated marketing and business intelligence.

SFG continues to build high-impact business solutions tied into its real-time relational database platform for marketing companies of all sizes. Working directly with partners in defining systems and solutions, Pytlak and the SFG team are focused on continuing their development efforts centered on a unified view of the customer across all business models and media.
